Self Acceptance Training (SAT) is an approach to human development and counseling created by Richard (Dick) Olney. It was at Cambridge House in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during 1969 where Dick became fully connected to the work. SAT uses various modalities such as bioenergetics, shamanism, Eidetic imagery, Ericksonian hypnosis, gestalt, and somatic (body) awareness. When practicing SAT, a person experiences his/herself in a given moment without the inhibition of self criticism, self judgment, or self evaluation.
